Saw Stool COMPLETE!!!

Today we went over how to complete the time-line for constructing a house.
We all made a quick trip down to student central to organize our student loans, allowances, id cards and course related costs.
We also answered a quick question on our assignment, which was:

What is this symbol? ( It is not a shower )

First Day Of Drawing

Wednesday 23rd March

Today we started our first scale drawing. A Drawing plan of a cement block.
We learnt many different types of symbols and various lines used to show the length/measurement of the plans or drawings edge.

Inside the workshop, my saw stool assignment is finally complete. It wasn't easy but if you know what your doing it's not hard either.
I found it extremely hard trying to keep the project within the measurements, especially the 1:3 ratio measurement.

Tuesday 22nd March

Today we started off our day working independently inside the computer lab, connecting to blogger, inviting more friends, customising our web page and so on. Some found it hard trying to remember their own login account, while others did it with no hesitation.

Continuing from yesterday, my saw stool assembling is well under way. Although I find a few things difficult with the saw stool, I am still not going to give up.

Stages of Construction

Monday 21st March

Today in class we covered more in depth, the stages of constructing a house, the right way, with the right equipment etc.
We made an effort to take notes down, after finding out that all of the notes would be available to us on our class moodle page.

Week 3 of Carpentry.

Wednesday 16th March 2011

Today our class went more in depth into our assignment (Buit-4540). We started off with naming the stages of constructing a house, built the right way and in the right sequence. Also identifying certain parts of the structure and learning about the different symbols found on the blue prints of the structure.

We also encountered alot of new words and abbreviations.

Tutorial Session

Tuesday 15th March 2011

(Tutorial- A class in which the tutor gives intensive instruction in some subject to an individual student or a group of students... CCS Unitec: Period in class time to help us learn more on how to pass assignments. Takes place every Tuesday morning.)
Our CCS class took part in helpful tutorial that taught us the correct way to complete assignments and answer questions with relevant answers. We reviewed some of the lessons that were taught in the last tutorial, and were reminded of the support provided for us (on/off campus) to help with our time here at Unitec,NZ.

CCS Class Update

Monday 14th March 2011

Today we are learning how to create an account with g-mail, blogger and other servers linked to help us with our study here at Unitec. We are still in the process of  learning how to handle tools in the right manner for the safety of ourselves and others.
It is an awesome privelidge to have this opportunity to take part in something that helps youth to do something usefull in their life. 
With the help of my tutors and my fellow class-mates, I believe that it is possible, for everyone participating in this coarse, to pass and succeed and go on into bigger and better things.
